Camouflage has produced innovative solutions to many landscape projects for 20 years. We have experience in all aspects of landscape elements both built environment & horticultural principals.
We believe it is important to design around your needs and ideas so that you eventually have an environment you use and enjoy.
Outdoor living and entertainment is a way of life in Queensland and a well designed entertaining area and garden will add value to your property and create a pleasant setting for entertaining family and friends.
Site Analysis / Design Requirements
Camouflage Landscape Design believe in designing functional landscapes for people to use and enjoy. To do this it is necessary to discuss with each client their ideas, requirements and expectations on what they would like.
Firstly, all problems of the site are addressed eg; drainage, retaining, etc. Then the aspects of function are considered, positioning driveways, paths, pergolas, swimming pools and other necessary hard landscape features. Once these have been identified and located desirable planting themes and plant species can be selected and positioned to link the aesthetic qualities of both the home and garden.
On completion of the design we will deliver and explain thoroughly the design intent, rationale, planting and intended effects.
Scaled Landscape Plan
Camouflage uses current CADD software to develop comprehensive and detailed landscape drawings. dwg or .dxf files can be emailed directly to us.
Camouflage produces two sets of drawings for each project.
The first is a structural landscape layout which details all built elements; drainage, levels, retaining, pavements & entertaining structures etc. All construction notation and detailing is shown on the drawing.
The second drawing is a Horticultural layout. The plan shows position of all features e.g. Gardens, Plantings, Lawn Areas. The full botanic names of the selected plantings will be listed alongside the plantings. Quantities & pot sizes to use are also shown.
The landscape plans are very detailed and are drawn to scale, usually 1:100. This allows easy calculation, setting out, and construction of the landscape.
Most plans are presented as A3 coloured sheets at 1:200 scale and full size A1 sheets as black and white for easy construction use. This is the size most building/house plans are drawn upon, so, ease of reading is maximised.
Planting Schedule Booklet
Camouflage produces a booklet of information to accompany the design. The booklet outlines a number of things about the design in great detail. There are four sections to the booklet.
THE PLANTING: Details all plantings on the plan in logical format of Botanic name, height, spread, pot size to purchase, relevant coding (bird attracting plants etc) and species quantities. Also other plantings may be shown here rather than on the plan, eg; lists of plants of specific areas.
THE NOTATION: Details information on implementation of construction and maintenance, eg; Watering, Fertilising, Pruning, etc.
THE MAINTAINENCE PROGRAMS: A seasonal month by month guide on how to fertilse and treat pests and diseases which may attack plant selections.
THE CONSTRUCTION DETAILS: A variety of sketches of assembly of certain components of your design, eg; Paving, Edging, Planting, etc.

The 3D design can be portrayed as simple line work, clay model or to various stages of photorealism. The top end photorealism portrays what the design would look like constructed with years of plant growth. It is accurate to the millimetre and can indicate product, colour, texture, sun and shading and night visualisation.
